Charlottetown Winter Carnival

Best Dressed Snow Sculpture

Get creative with snow!! Let your imaginations run wild and build a snow sculpture!!

Let’s decorate our little town with as many snow sculptures as we can! All ages are encouraged to be involved. 1st place prize to be won!!

Friday February 27
7PM Fireworks
Join us for a Fireworks display at the Government wharf to kick off the Winter Carnival Weekend!!

After Fireworks Hockey Game
Following the fireworks we will be having a game of Ice Hockey on the rink. Wear boots or skates, bring a stick, and have some fun!! Helmets are recommended. This event will be pending the conditions of the ice, of course.

Saturday February 28
9AM Winter Carnival Breakfast
Join us at the Community Center for breakfast. Breakfast will cost $10 per adult and $8 for child under 10.

11:30AM – 1:00PM Kids Fun Time
Join us at the Community Center for Kids Fun Time! We will have bouncy castle, games, coloring contest, and more. Admission $5 per child, includes unlimited games, and hot dog & drink for lunch! Canteen will be open.

2PM Goods Bingo
Come to the Community Center for a Goods Bingo! All ages are welcome to attend this event!!

10PM Winter Carnival Adult Dance with THE BREEZE
Get your dancing shoes on and join THE BREEZE for a 19+ dance at the Community Center. 50/50 tickets will be available to purchase. Cost of entry is $20 per person.

Blocks on the Rock 6, Newfoundland’s premier LEGO® fan event, presented by Newfoundlug, returns on April 11th and 12th at 206 Mount Scio Road, St. John’s.
Event hours are 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. both days, with a sensory-friendly hour on Sunday, April 12th, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Admission is $5, and children under 3 enter for free.
Guests from First Robotics NL will bring the excitement of LEGO® robotics.
All profits from door fees directly support Easter Seals NL’s programs.
Attendees will enjoy stunning displays, interactive build zones, and more.

Sullivan’s Songhouse

On Wednesday, March 11 at 7:00 p.m., at Our Lady, Queen of Families Parish (110 Ashford Drive, Mount Pearl) Sullivan’s Songhouse — Sean Sullivan and Sheldon Thornhill — will be performing an Irish music concert to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.  Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the concert begins at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets for the concert are $20 each.  They can be purchased at Our Lady, Queen of Families Parish (110 Ashford Drive, Mount Pearl), or they can be purchased over the phone by calling 709-364-8606.

St. Patrick’s Day concert

St. James United Church 330 Elizabeth Ave are having a St. Patrick’s Day concert on Sunday March 15th from 2-3:30 pm
Tickets are just $35 and are available by calling the church office Tuesday to Friday from 8:30 am to I:30 pm.

Location: Gonzaga High School (Student/Parking Lot Entrance to the left side of the main entrance).
You can drop off gently-used prom attire at the main office Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.
If you would like to donate financially or “adopt a graduate,” please email tracyanngardiner@nlesd.ca and she will connect you with the parent volunteers leading this part of the initiative.
Any graduating student from any high school in our province can visit our Pup Up Prom Shops here at Gonzaga on the aforementioned dates.
